IMPRESSIONS/QUICK REF FOR BRIAR

Once upon a time, Briar was the firey, happy-go-lucky protagonist of a turn-based JRPG whose story spanned an entire continent. After fighting to the end of that adventure, however, Briar realized that the role of the hero who fights and slays monsters was one that made her deeply unhappy and she became displaced from her story, left to wander as a forgotten character until she stumbled across the world beyond stories – Libretto, the sanctuary for creations displaced from their narratives. Occupants of Libretto are free to live life as they choose and will, eventually, leave the world behind to become muses and inspire the creators of new stories.

Granted the freedom to choose her own path, Briar grew into her own and had a lot of very important realizations about herself (primarily, that she was a trans girl) and upon finally getting settled in Libretto for real, decided that she wanted to spend her time in Libretto creating things rather than destroying them and set about learning the craft of storytelling.

She is currently the apprentice to the Imaginieer, the one responsible for guiding the story of Libretto and keeping it under control. This will eventually be Briar's title once she learns the ropes but for now, she's just babey.

Briar IS:

• A fifteen year old trans girl, standing at 5'4'' with the soft and squishy build of the party healer. She has pink hair that falls just past her shoulders with choppy bangs and some sort of flowery hair accessory usually tied up in it. She has b i g baby blue eyes and basically just gives off Little Sister Energy, so you'll either want to hug her or noogie her. Or both. She dresses primarily in a sort of school-uniform-esque look, with a blazer and a ribbon tie at the collar and a pleated skirt and she tries very hard to keep all of it neat and tidy but she has ink stains on her sleeves and fingers almost 100% of the time.
  
• A NEEEEEEEEERD. She's bookish and loves reading and any kind of fiction. Get her talking about story telling mechanics and she'll talk your ear off for hours.
  
• Friendly, generally cheerful and energetic.
  
• A bit scatterbrained and easily distracted, especially when it comes to things that relate back to her primary interests.
  
• A bit naive and too quick to trust people without thinking particularly hard about their motives.
  
• Not quite as Firey as she once was but she's very principled about the things she believes in.
  
• Skilled at/knowledgeable about everything the average person can reasonably be expected to be. An accomplished storyteller, for obvious reasons.


Briar IS NOT:

• Genuinely cruel, actively malicious or mean-spirited to the average person
  
• Book dumb or uneducated.

Fourthwalling: The very concept of Briar as a character relies on fourth walling, as she is a self-aware fictional character. As such, Briar may occasionally reference, display awareness of or describe things in terms of literary tropes, character archetypes, etc. She will not canon-puncture anyone, or recognize any other characters as being fictional.
